The maze is composed of 77 mirrors and colorful lights. The walls, ceilings and even parts of the floor of the entire space are all equipped with reflective surfaces. Stepping into it, countless “infinitely extended” channels formed by mirror reflections come into view. The LED lights on the ceiling constantly change colors such as red, blue and green, and the light and shadow interweave on the mirrors, creating a dreamy and confusing visual effect. The edges of the mirror have been treated with soft padding to prevent tourists from getting injured due to collisions.

Maze design is full of confusion. The mirror-like reflected images often make it difficult for people to distinguish the real path from the mirror image. Tourists seem to be facing multiple passages, but when they get closer, they find that it is an illusion of mirror reflection. Sometimes I think it’s a dead end, but when I turn sideways, I can find a hidden exit. The sense of exploration brought by this visual illusion makes every walk full of unknowns and surprises.

To help tourists identify directions, the maze floor is marked with white arrows and lines, but these marks are not obvious and can only be discovered through careful observation. During the tour, tourists need to move slowly, testing the route while looking for ground signs, which greatly tests their observation and judgment skills. It usually takes 20 to 30 minutes to walk through the maze. If you want to continue your visit, there are also aquariums, Madame Tussauds, bay cruises and other attractions around the Fisherman’s Wharf, as well as restaurants that serve fresh seafood, making it convenient for tourists to plan their trips.

Whether you are a family with children, a couple or a group of friends, you can all experience a fun exploration that is hard to distinguish between reality and illusion in this mirror maze full of visual magic, and leave behind unique travel memories of San Francisco.
