The Heart-shaped Mazes of Miyuewan Rose Garden are located in Zishanhu Tourist Area, Xianning, Hubei. It is the core attraction of the rose garden. It consists of two heart – shaped mazes, symbolizing love. You can see its outline from a distance, which is very distinctive.
The maze covers an area of about 15 mu. It mainly uses different varieties of roses and hedges to build paths. Roses are in colors like red, pink and white. When they bloom, they spread along the paths. The hedges grow neatly, forming partitions over 1 meter high to separate different passages.
The paths in the maze are not particularly complicated, but there are many turns. There are small signposts along the way, marking the general direction. There is a small circular square in the middle with benches, where you can sit and rest when tired.
This maze is suitable for young people to take photos and for families with children to visit. When roses are in full bloom, the heart – shaped outline is surrounded by a sea of flowers, which is very eye – catching when seen from a high place.
In addition to the maze, the rose garden has a large rose viewing area, planting more than 20 kinds of roses. There is a lawn nearby where you can spread a mat to rest. There is a canteen selling water and snacks. A 10 – minute walk away, there is a restaurant serving local dishes of Xianning, such as Hesheng Chicken Soup and Tongshan Ba Tuo (a kind of local dumpling).
You can drive here. It takes about 1.5 hours from Wuhan, and there is a parking lot in the park. You can also take the intercity railway to Xianning East Station, then take a taxi for 15 minutes to arrive.
The opening hours of the maze are the same as those of the rose garden, usually from 9:00 to 17:30. The ticket is included in the rose garden ticket, about 40 yuan per person. Children under 1.2 meters in height are free of charge.
April to May is the best time for roses to bloom. Visiting here at this time, you can both walk through the maze and enjoy the sea of flowers. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes because you will walk a lot in the maze.
