Guiyang Guanshanhu Park is located on both sides of Guanshan Bridge in Guanshanhu District, Guiyang. It is a large urban ecological park. The park covers a total area of over 5,500 mu, including 4,160 mu of forest and about 600 mu of ecological wetland water area, and is known as the “heart of the region and the green lung of the new city”.
The park is rich in scenic spots. There is a central square that can accommodate more than 20,000 people, which has hosted large-scale events such as the National Ethnic Gala of the 9th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities. There are also attractions like the 湖心岛 (Central Lake Island), 环湖湿地 (Lakeside Wetlands), 紫薇花园 (Crape Myrtle Garden), and 铜鼓广场 (Bronze Drum Square), allowing visitors to enjoy different views.
In the children’s activity area of the park, there is a very popular large blue maze. This maze is a huge ring shape with multiple entrances and exits, composed of 12 layers of stone walls. The stone walls are 1.2 meters high, and their surfaces are inlaid with thumb-sized tiles of different blue colors, looking very beautiful.
Many trees are planted inside the maze. These trees act like obstacles, increasing the difficulty of the maze. Children run around in the maze, and it’s hard to see the whole picture of the maze at once. They often have to turn back when they encounter trees. When they really can’t find their way, they will climb up the stone walls and look around to find an exit. This maze is not only a happy place for children but also attracts many tourists to take photos.
In addition, the park has various entertainment facilities such as climbing nets and large slides, suitable for parent-child outings. The park is open from 06:00 to 22:00 all year round and is free to enter. It is an ideal place for citizens and tourists to get close to nature and relax.
