Chaolai Forest Park is in Laiguangying Township, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It’s a free urban oasis open to everyone. Construction started in 2002, and it officially opened to visitors in 2008. Covering about 6,000 mu (that’s roughly 400 hectares), it’s super easy to get to. Just take buses like Route 707 or 966 and get off at Chaolai Agricultural Garden Station.

The park mainly focuses on planting trees and grass, with a rich variety of plant landscapes. There are 80 types of seedlings, including 36,538 arbors and shrubs in total. These plants form a balanced, eco-friendly community. You can enjoy beautiful scenery here all year round: in spring, peach blossoms look like pink clouds; in summer, the flower fields are bright and colorful; in autumn, ginkgo leaves turn golden; even in winter, the evergreen forests stay lush and green.

As Beijing’s first all-age sports park, it meets the leisure and sports needs of people of all ages. Inside, there’s a 3-kilometer cycling path and a 5-kilometer fitness trail. There are also several basketball courts, tennis courts, and other sports venues. For kids, there’s a children’s playground with slides and sandpits—they can run around and have a blast here.

The “Ant Kingdom” hedge maze for kids is one of the most popular spots in the park. The paths inside wind and twist, surrounded by neatly trimmed plants. It feels like a little green secret world! When kids dash through and explore, they look just like happy little ants. What’s even cooler? There are ground carvings of the 24 Solar Terms on the floor. These carvings mix ancient solar term knowledge with modern garden art. While playing, kids can easily learn about solar terms like Start of Spring, Rain Water, and Awakening of Insects—picking up nature facts and intangible cultural heritage knowledge without even trying.

Besides that, the park has other unique spots: the “Lilac Path” forest boardwalk, a suspension bridge, and the Peach Blossom Valley. The suspension bridge crosses over clear water—walk on it, and you can look down at the beautiful park views. In the Peach Blossom Valley, pink peach blossoms and green trees set each other off perfectly, like a fairyland.

Chaolai Forest Park, with its great scenery and diverse features, is really a top choice for people to relax, work out, and get close to nature.
