Hidden in Taiping Lake Forest Park in Mile, Yunnan, there’s this super amazing viral flower wall maze that’ll totally wow you.
This maze is called “Xichao Tian · Maze Flower Array” and it’s made entirely of bougainvillea. If you look down from above, it’s shaped like a huge Chinese character “囍” (which means double happiness)—super cool, right? Step inside, and the flower walls are taller than most people. Clusters of bougainvillea grow thick and dense, forming walls of flowers that twist and turn like a giant puzzle. It’s so easy to get a little lost in there!
The bougainvillea blooms from May to November every year, and it’s at its best between July and September. By then, the whole maze is covered in pinkish-purple flowers—it’s like walking into a dreamy world. When the wind blows, petals flutter down, almost like a flower rain. It’s so romantic!
Every corner in the maze brings a surprise. You might turn a corner and suddenly see a super pretty patch of flowers, or a little hidden spot tucked away in the blooms. Sunlight filters through the petals, casting dappled light on the ground. No matter how you take photos here, they’ll look great. A lot of people wear light-colored clothes to contrast with the purple bougainvillea—photos come out looking like scenes from a movie!
Besides the beautiful views, the maze is fun too. Going through it with friends or family, chatting and laughing as you find your way—total good vibes. Sometimes you think you’re heading for the exit, but it turns out to be a dead end. Everyone just laughs and starts over. That little thrill of exploring is the best part.
