Shanlin Sunflower Maze in Kaohsiung, Taiwan is a flower – viewing spot with great characteristics. The sunflower field here covers a considerable area, about 29 hectares. Within the park, there are not only large expanses of sunflowers but also several colorful flower areas with different blooming periods, presenting a charming scenery.
Among this 29 – hectare flower field, a 3 – hectare area has been developed into the main sunflower maze area. In terms of layout, this 3 – hectare area is cleverly designed into a maze pattern. Surrounded by large patches of sunflowers, the winding paths crisscross each other. When tourists walk deep into it, they feel as if they are in a sea of sunflowers, and every step is full of unknowns and surprises. Tourists can wander through the sunflower bushes and enjoy the fun of navigating the maze.
The sunflowers were once carefully arranged to form the characters “2019 I30”, conveying the beautiful meaning of “I love Shanlin” (with “Shan” referring to Shanlin). When viewed from a high altitude, these characters and the golden sunflower field set off each other, forming a spectacular and creative picture.
In addition to the main sunflower maze area, the park also includes Yuemei Flower Field, Shanlin Bridge Flower Field and Xinzhuang Happiness Flower Field. These four areas together form the four colorful flower areas with different blooming periods. Currently, zinnia and cosmos are in full bloom in these flower fields, showing a variety of colors. Zinnia comes in many colors such as red, yellow and pink, while cosmos looks light and graceful. When the breeze blows, they sway with the wind, looking very beautiful.
Regarding the blooming period, the current blooming period of zinnia and cosmos is expected to last until February 10th. The blooming period of the sunflower field is a bit longer, which can last until the end of February. If you want to see the sunflower field, February is a good time. If you hope to enjoy both zinnia and cosmos at the same time, it is best to visit before February 10th.
