There is a unique maze in the Seedling Base of Taichuangyuan, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province. Viewed from the air, its overall shape is like a huge axe, which is very peculiar.
This maze is cleverly divided into 3 sub-mazes by roads. Among them, two sub-mazes are connected together, forming the sharp blade part of the axe. The other sub-maze, which is the largest in area, forms the tail part of the axe at the rear end.
Walking into this largest tail sub-maze, you will find a unique world inside. There are three circular mazes here. The circular mazes are designed in a way that one circle is nested inside another. Walking in them, it is easy to get lost, but it also adds a lot of fun to exploration. In addition to the circular mazes, there is also a pentagonal maze. Each side of the pentagon has “walls” formed by seedlings, dividing different areas. Tourists shuttling in this pentagonal maze need to carefully think about the route to take to find the exit.
The entire maze is carefully planted with more than 20 kinds of seedlings such as wisteria flowers and Photinia × fraseri. These seedlings not only form the unique shape of the maze, but also present different sceneries with the change of seasons. In spring, the newly green seedlings are full of vitality; in summer, the branches and leaves are lush, bringing a cool feeling; in autumn, some seedlings’ leaves change color, making the scene colorful; in winter, against the frost and snow, there is another kind of charm. No matter when you come, you can experience a unique maze trip and feel the charm of the combination of nature and creativity.
For tourists who move fast and have a good sense of direction, it may take about 1 hour to walk through the entire maze. When visiting with children, they may stop to observe plants, play, or need parents to guide the way, so the time may be a bit longer, about 2 hours.
