The Crystal Palace Park Maze in London, with a diameter of 49 meters, is composed of tall hedges and complex paths. It has existed since the 1870s, originally transformed from an old tennis court and officially completed in 1887. Since then, it has always been a popular attraction in the park. At that time, people were very curious about this way of playing full of exploration fun. Every weekend or holiday, there were always many tourists gathering around the maze.

In 2009, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Girl Scouts of England, the maze underwent a large-scale renovation. More than 6,000 members of the Girl Scouts of England attended the launch ceremony. This renovation not only restored the hedges but also re-planned some of the paths, allowing the maze to incorporate new designs while retaining its original features. The renovated maze is more interesting and challenging, attracting more people to come and play.

There are many interactive artworks in the maze, designed by the artists Brooke and Blake. These works are distributed throughout the maze. For instance, brass plaques can be used to print images of animals and plants, allowing visitors to leave unique souvenirs with their own hands. The small stone tablets are engraved with exquisite patterns, adding an artistic atmosphere to the maze. There is also a 9-meter-wide artistic painting on the ground with exquisite patterns. In the center of the maze, there is a two-ton black and white granite art piece, with a circumference of 9 meters and a unique shape, which has become a landmark sight in the maze.

The maze is open to everyone for free and is located in the north of the park. As long as the park is open, tourists can enter and play. If there is no time to complete the entire journey, there are information boards outside the maze, which have detailed historical introductions and maps to help tourists understand the past of the maze and find their way.

Besides, the maze can also be rented to hold events. Whether it’s a friend gathering or a company team-building event, you can experience the joy of exploration and challenge here. Everyone can compete in groups to see who can find the exit of the maze the fastest, or work together to solve the small puzzles hidden in the maze and enhance their feelings for each other while playing.
