Valley of Love in Dalat, Vietnam, is a place full of romantic vibes. It is located on the outskirts of Dalat, about 5 kilometers from the city center. It was a product of the French colonial period, initially named “Valle d’Amour”. It was renamed “Valley of Love” in 1934 and recognized as a national treasure of Vietnam in 1998.
The Valley of Love covers an area of about 140 hectares. The valley has beautiful scenery. The air is filled with the fragrance of pine trees. Small waterfalls are scattered among the trees, and neat paths stretch in all directions. Visitors can choose to walk, or take the wooden small train in the park, ride a bicycle or a horse to tour around. There is a Datian Lake in the valley, which was formed by building a dam in 1972. Visitors can rent a swan-shaped pedal boat for two or four people and float leisurely on the lake.
One of the most attractive spots in the Valley of Love is the heart-shaped maze. It is made of green hedges and has two entrances, located at the top and bottom of the heart shape respectively. There is a pavilion with sunshades in the center of the maze for visitors to rest. There are 4 viewing platforms around. Visitors can climb up the viewing platforms to overlook the entire maze and the beautiful scenery of the Valley of Love. Wandering through the maze feels like entering an interesting world. Both couples and families with children can find fun here.
Besides the heart-shaped maze, the Valley of Love has many other love-related elements. For example, there is a bridge decorated with pink heart patterns, a pavilion carved with the word “love”, and a bronze sculpture of couples exchanging rings. These elements set off the natural landscape, making the Valley of Love a famous honeymoon destination and a popular dating spot for couples in Vietnam.
