The maze at Natural Park of Crescent Island is located in Fushun, China. It is a leisure maze built using the park’s natural environment, suitable for locals and tourists to visit daily.
The maze uses Chinese arborvitae shrubs as barriers. The plants are about 1.5 meters high, forming curved paths. The route has multiple forks and circular passages. First-time visitors usually need 20 to 40 minutes to find the exit. There is a circular rest area in the center of the maze, with stone tables and stools for visitors to sit.
The maze area grows many local plants. Besides the Chinese arborvitae used as barriers, forsythia, flowering plum and daylilies are planted along the paths. In spring, forsythia blooms yellow flowers, flowering plum blooms pink flowers. They match with green shrubs to form a simple scene. In summer, daylilies bloom, mostly in yellow and orange. In autumn and winter, the shrubs stay green, still suitable for visiting.
Park facilities are simple. There is a sign at the entrance, showing the maze’s location and emergency exits. Next to the maze is a wooden plank road, connecting other parts of the park. The nearby rest area has sunshades and benches, convenient for visitors to rest. There is a small shop in the park, selling drinking water and snacks.
This maze is not separately charged. It is included in the free area of Natural Park of Crescent Island. The park is open daily from 6:00 to 21:00, all year round. Transportation is convenient. It takes about 30 minutes by car from downtown Fushun. You can also take a bus to Natural Park Station, then walk 5 minutes to the maze entrance.
It is suitable for taking children to play. Kids can run around to find the exit. It is also good for the elderly to walk in on their way. The maze paths are relatively flat, accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Surroundings are the park’s green spaces and water views. When tired from the maze, you can walk around nearby and enjoy the river scenery.
