Tucked just outside the small town of Healesville, in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, Australia, lies a super special spot—Hedgend Maze. It’s about 60 kilometers from Melbourne’s city center, right by the scenic valley. Stand here, and you’ll get amazing views of the whole Yarra Valley.
Covering around 8 hectares, the park’s biggest highlight is its four totally different mazes. The 1.2-kilometer hedge maze is the most famous one. Walking inside feels like stepping into a huge green puzzle—with crisscrossing paths that can keep you busy for hours. These tall hedges act like natural “walls.” Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled light, and every turn holds a little surprise you don’t see coming.
But Hedgend Maze isn’t just about mazes. There’s an 18-hole mini-golf course and a 9-hole disc golf area—perfect for getting both kids and adults moving. Plus, there are fun activities like digging for dinosaur fossils and outdoor laser tag. Kids often have so much fun they don’t want to leave! The park also has a tangled web of playgrounds, and you can hear laughter everywhere.
If you prefer quieter times, you’ll still find things to love here. The “Backyard” private tour lets you get up close with farm animals—you can even feed them! And there are Chinese-speaking guides, so you don’t have to worry about communication. When you’re tired, head to the café for a bite, or relax in the free BBQ and picnic areas. Enjoy your food while taking in the valley views—pure bliss.
Tickets are a great deal too. On regular days, adults pay $18 and kids $15. One ticket gets you access to all the activities. The park also hosts birthday parties, weddings, and school trips. Whether you’re out with family or friends, it’s the perfect place.
