Wet and Wild: The Kylin Water Maze Challenge

Shenzhen Longgang Children’s Park is located at the north side of the intersection of Yanlong Avenue and Aixin Road in Longgang District, covering an area of about 320,000 square meters. It is the first themed children’s forest exploration park in the Greater Bay Area.

The park has three main sections: a powered play area, an unpowered play area, and a commercial and leisure area. In the unpowered area, facilities are built along the natural terrain, including 10 major unpowered installations such as the Whispering Scroll, the Magic Water Ring, and the Fairy Forest, as well as many smaller unpowered attractions. The powered play area features international-standard facilities such as the “Bay Area Star”—Shenzhen’s highest full-screen interactive starry-sky Ferris wheel—and the largest-capacity pirate ship in Asia.

In the Magic Water Ring area of the unpowered park, there is a particularly popular attraction called the Kylin Water Maze. Its walls are brownish-yellow, looking like a cartoon castle. Walking into the maze feels like entering a mysterious world. Inside, there are water-spraying fish monsters everywhere, which suddenly shoot out streams of water to surprise the little adventurers. Some soldiers are hiding in the shadows, holding water guns and aiming at the children who try to rush out of the maze. It’s not easy for the young warriors to find the magic words—they must be brave enough to get wet, dash through the maze, and avoid the attacks from various water mechanisms. Only then can they find the magic words, break out of the siege, and head to the more challenging Fairy Forest.

Besides the Kylin Water Maze, Longgang Children’s Park has many other fun places. For example, the Whispering Scroll allows kids to enter an interesting magical world through a book-shaped play tower and forest-sound speaking tubes. In the Fairy Forest, there are a chatty “giant spider,” singing “cicada” fairies, and other surprises. Children need to cross balance beams and large suspension bridges to collect big fruits as rewards.

In short, Shenzhen Longgang Children’s Park is a place full of fun and challenges. Whether you’re a child or an adult, you can find your own happiness here.
