The ecological corridor of Dongyang Riverfront Landscape Belt is like an unfolded “Geshan Huashui Long Scroll”, connecting more than a dozen parks. The maze in Citizen Garden is especially eye-catching. This ecological corridor is an important part of the central Zhejiang ecological corridor, with many fascinating details, and the maze is one of the most vivid ones.
The maze is hidden in Citizen Garden and is called Matan Story Maze. It is very interesting when you get close. The hedge walls outline square passages stroke by stroke, with twists and turns and many forks. However, the outer contour of the entire maze is not regular at all, as if it has grown naturally.
Its location is very prominent. Red and blue plastic runways wind tightly around the maze. These two runways are built to high standards and shine brightly among the green scenery. Outside the runways, there is a circle of lush tall trees. The leaves block the sun and enclose the maze in the middle, so you can see this special green block from a distance.
To enter the maze from the runway, you have to pass two places first. One is an observation platform. Standing on it, you can clearly see the direction of the passages in the maze. You can tell at a glance which path is unblocked and which is blocked. There is also a viewing pavilion nearby. You can sit down to rest when you are tired, and also discuss the route to go through the maze with your companions. This design is very considerate. Observe first before setting off, so you will feel more confident when going through the maze.
Many people are attracted to it when passing by. People who do morning exercises run along the red and blue runways and can’t help but stop to look at the movement in the maze. On weekends, parents who bring their children here will first point out the route to their children on the observation platform, and then walk into the passages of the hedge walls together. The wind blows through the hedges with a rustling sound, mixed with the laughter from the pavilion. This is probably the most touching appearance of the ecological corridor – hiding fun in the greenery.
